This position is primarily based in Columbia, SC - approximately 50% of the work will be done there and 50% from a Charlotte-area location.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Help define the overall IT control environment and control framework
  • Lead the analysis to assess existing controls and control processes against industry best practices 
  • Support implementation and enhancement of control processes and procedures.  
  • Design, implement, and manage programs, policies, and practices to ensure compliance. 
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other departments that share risk, control, and governance responsibilities to ensure that information is appropriately shared.
  • Develop metrics, measures and reporting to assess the effectiveness of key processes and controls.
  • Ensure that key processes and controls address all relevant regulatory concerns 
  • Provide ongoing consultation to business partners on all aspects of control frameworks, including process controls, control design and control effectiveness measurement 
  • Assist with IT policy, standards, practices and procedures documentation  

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (computer science, business administration, healthcare administration field is preferred) 
  • ​Eight years or more experience in technology governance, technology risk identification, operational processes and control frameworks. 
  • Subject matter expert understanding of IT internal control and service delivery frameworks, specifically COBIT 5.  Three years or more experience in COBIT implementation required. 
  • Superior analytical capabilities and the ability to manage a portfolio of projects. 
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Proven ability to turn strategy into tactical implementation within a collaborative environment. 

Preferred Skills:

  • PMP certification preferred. 
  • ​Experience in the following governance frameworks preferred: 
    • ITIL v3 
    • NIST 
    • MARS-E 
    • CMMI 
  • Consulting experience in business analysis, software engineering or quality assurance a bonus.
