Proposal Manager/Writer

This position is based in Charlotte/Monroe, North Carolina.  There is an 80% time on-site requirement.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Reads and reviews all Requests for Proposal (RFP)
  • Determines proposal requirements and collaborates with other professionals (company executives, technical and subject matter experts, and contractors) to solicit and capture information in order to develop required content)
  • Prepares outlines, schedules and conducts proposal kickoff meeting
  • Attends pre-proposal conferences and site visits when required
  • Conducts research on RFP technical/functional areas to understand requirements
  • Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, reviewing, approval and submission
  • Solicits and compiles team questions, submits questions and monitors answers and response
  • Creates graphics when necessary
  • Matches proposal criteria and instructions to the response document
  • Leads the proposal team review
  • Integrates review comments and ensures consistency of voice and tone throughout the document
  • Manages several proposals simultaneously in a high-volume, time-sensitive, quick-turn environment
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment and meet all deadlines
  • Proactively research State and Federal websites for bidding opportunities
  • Some travel will be required

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors degre
  • 3+ years’ experience in preparing written proposals, contracts and/or developing technical content and document
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office suite tools including Sharepoint
  • Experience with editing proposal content for readability, consistency, clarity and compliance with requirements
  • Strong Communication (oral and written), organizational, and planning skills
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Prior experience with US Government contract proposals and State contract proposals is a must
  • Experience with Federal and State Health and Human Services programs a must

Timeframe

Full-time with competitive salary and benefits. No Corp to Corp (C2C).
